On May 12, 2010, Dr. Moshe Wilker performed major spinal surgery on me. Previous to that date, for over six months, I had been experiencing varying degrees of back pain, mainly in the lower lumbar region. Three epidural injections by another doctor in February gave only temporary relief. I felt better for a few weeks in March, but by the middle of April, my condition had deteriorated dramatically and I could not stand up. To get around I had to put my palms on my knees and basically “crab-walk” around. I then contacted Dr. Wilker and alerted him to my condition. Immediately, he called for a MRI, and then the next day performed surgery.
Within days after the surgery, I was pain-free and able to stand up. I have two titanium rods now permanently implanted along my spine to provide support. With physical therapy, my flexibility will improve over time. Dr. Wilker is a great surgeon who turned things around for me. I went from daily pain levels of 9-10 (out of 10), and the complete inability to do normal tasks (including standing up straight), to a very normal existence that is pain free. I have unending gratitude to Dr. Wilker for his superb abilities that restored my freedom of movement and gave me back my life.
I want to thank Dr. Wilker and all of the staff at St. Johns – My back surgery was like a gift from God & Dr. Wilker is my Angel who gave me my life back. Thanks to Patricia for their guidance. The Nurses at St. Johns are all wonderful people.

Dr. Wilker is a good doctor and he preformed a great surgery and good service. I would recommend him to anybody who has the same problem.
Pain had disappeared 60% right after the surgery. Before the surgery my legs and entire spine was hurting and I could not walk or stand. Thank you very much Dr. Wilker – I feel better, much better! Today I am bringing my son to you with the same issue.

I have been having back pain for many years. Then I meet Dr. Wilker, and he told me about having back surgery. I took his advice and had the back surgery. It was the greatest thing I could have done. I’m feeling great now, and I wish I had the surgery earlier when it first happened.
I was injured at work and developed back pain and leg pain that continued for over eight months. I was not able to stand for long periods of time. I had numbness and tingling radiating from my lower back to my leg. My leg was weak, and I had a lot of pain and discomfort, especially in the afternoon. I was out of work for six months.
When the doctor told me that I would need back surgery. I became very stressed and afraid. I was scared, and even had nightmares. I looked for a second opinion, who told me that surgery was not needed and that I would heal on my own, but the pain continued and got worse. I had an epidural and it did not work. I finally accepted to have the surgery done. The day of surgery came and the staff at the surgery center was very helpful.
It has been one month after my surgery and I feel a lot better. I am still healing and will have physical therapy, and according to the doctor I will get even better. I am very happy and relieved with the results, and I am glad I had surgery.
